Notes
Limestone Rubble over gypseous clay knolls (hollow sounding here and there), open, sparsely vegetated, with Acacia neovernicosa, Kameria parvifolia, Allionia incarnata, Yucca torreyi, Porophyllum scoparium, Mentzelia, Amsonia, Nerisyrenia camporum, N. linearifolia, Astrolepis cochisensis, Selinocarpus lanceolatus. Clump of basal leaves 4 dm diam., bluish-green, from gnarled woody caudex; perianth deep pink, flowers mostly closed (10 AM). Flowers in packet come from 20 Sep 1997 visit to pop. at sundown. Phenology: flowering & fruiting.
