Scandent shrub to 10ft high with drooping branches. Young stems green to purple with brown lenticels, older grey-brown. Inflorescence papery, deep mid green and slightly glossy above with conspicuous purple midrib (& prominent venation), pale green beneath with prominent greenish-white midrib and lateral nerves. Flowers pale green and anthers yellow.
