Notes
Small tree 12-15 ft high. Branches brittle. Young leaves red flushed "nitidissima" above pendulous. Flowers from main trunk or new shoots. Perianth thick, sepals sivery outside, petals velventy brown in bud creamy inside in open flower. Fruits large clusters of oblong monocarps very deep grey blue black. All parts have a strong smell of anisole. Fruits dry and flowers in spirit.
