Pseudobulbs up to 3.3 cm long; leaves up to 9 × 1.3 cm.Rhachis glabrous or slightly papillose, purple-brown.Flowers deep purple.Lip coarsely papillose along margins on the upper side, puberulous elsewhere except for a glabrous mid-line.Flowers of similar size to subsp. unifoliatum.
