Information
Caespitose perennial with short erect rhizome; culms up to 150 cm tall, erect, tough, leafy throughout; leaf lamina up to 30 cm × 5 mm, usually flat, setaceously acuminate.Panicle 17–32 cm long, elliptic, loose; the branches slender, flexuous, densely spiculate towards the tip.Spikelets 4–6-flowered, 6–11 mm long excluding the awns, narrowly oblong; glumes somewhat unequal in length, the inferior 2.8–4 mm long, the superior 3.6–4.5 mm long; lemmas lanceolate, the body c. 5 mm long; awns 5–7 mm long; anthers 0.8–1 mm long.
