Notes
Fanshawe 6821 (Zambia, Barotse, Masese, fr. 15.v.1962, (K; NDO)) from dambo/woodland margin on Kalahari Sand is var. robustum Verdc. (in Kew Bull. 25: 145 (1971)) described from NW Tanzania with larger leaflets and short peduncles. It is, however, less well characterised than I thought, and rather similar specimens have been collected in Malawi, Mozambique and Botswana. It may be a case of second flowering on shoots much more developed than when the plant first flowers or developing under atypical climatic conditions. Fieldwork will probably show it is not worth retaining.
