Information
Perennial herb, older stems prostrate. Leaves glabrous, ovate, 22-30 x 4-10 mm, apex obtuse, base cuneate; petiole 3-5 mm long. Inflorescence 1 per node, peduncle slender, 14-20 mm long, with 2-4 flowers towards the end. Bract and bracteoles as for J. anagalloides (no. 20). Calyx glabrous. Corolla 6-7 mm long, white. Pollen shortly 2-colporate, 18-20 urn long, sexine areolate. Capsule 4-seeded, delicate, ± 8 mm long.

Range
Two records from the FSA region, both from the Caprivi Strip in northern Namibia, one on the margin of a marsh and the other from a river bank. Recorded by Ensermu (1990) from most of Africa south of the Sahara: from Liberia to the Sudan, through East Africa to Zambia, with some records from Angola and northern Namibia. Occurs in a wide variety of veld types, often associated with water, e.g. marshes or irrigated areas. Description and map taken from PRE specimens only: for fuller description, see Ensermu (1990).
