Information
Shrub or subshrub, up to 2 m tall; young branches appressed pubescent. Leaf-blades elliptic to ovate, up to 2–7(–9) x 1.3–4(–5.2) cm, subacute to emarginate at the apex, cuneate at the base, subglabrous to sparsely puberulous and with sessile orange glands beneath, glabrous to sparsely pubescent above; petiole 3–15(–20) mm long. Spikes 2–12(–17) cm long, with many pairs of flowers; peduncle up to 2(–4.5) cm long; bracts broadly elliptic to suborbicular, the lower 7–12 x 4–10 mm, acute to truncate and with a short mucro at the apex, glandular puberulous and ciliate. Calyx 4–5.5 mm long. Corolla white; tube 5–8(–12) mm long; lobes 10–17 mm long. Capsule 10–14 mm long, 2(–4)-seeded. Seeds densely tuberculate.
