Leaf-blade broadly linear to lanceolate or broadly triangular-pentagonal in outline, up to 50 x 24 cm, 2-pinnatifid to 3-pinnate; pinnules narrowly oblong, lanceolate or ovate, crenulate, not articulated at the apex of the petiolule, glabrous or somewhat hairy; veins free; rhachis and up to 40 cm long petiole dark brown or black, glabrous or pubescent.

N1 widespread in eastern and southern tropical Africa
