He recommended a researcher of Bogoriense Herbarium and student of Harvard University for the study of Sterculiaceae in South America. There is some overlapping with the research line carried out by J. Cuatrecasas. The Harvard University recommended to Herbarium Bogoriense changing their research aims, as J. Cuatrecasas was completing the revision of Theobroma.
