Description
Jameson has sent Dr Joseph [Hooker] a box of insects, via [Robert F.] Budge in Valparaiso. Jameson wished to present them himself but did not want to risk them being spoiled by the climate. He is sorry that he has done so little in the way of botany and explains that this is due in part to the country being under water for five months at least. He has also had to resume medical practice. He intends to make one more journey to Quito and shall return to Guayaquil in Aug. Jameson is very desirous to hear if the various items he has sent to Hooker have reached him. As an addendum he describes the dimensions of the box of insects. [In another hand] A list of publications sent to Jameson on 9 Nov by Mr Maclean[?] is given including numbers of the JOURNAL OF BOTANY, LONDON JOURNAL, and ICONES PLANTARUM. Page 1 of 2.
