Description
Williams regrets that because of the long passage of 'the Parana' the last cases sent to Hooker did not arrive in time for Hooker to advise Williams about the manner and content of the next cases he was to ship. He thought it best to go ahead and send the items which include fifteen descriptions not previously sent. He says that he has not sent any terrestrial plants and that plants are hard to come by so he will wait to send any until he has sufficient for a whole case. He fears that the September steamer will be too late to send plants but promises to try and send a greater variety the following year and to collect as much as possible in the summer months. He says he is enclosing a list of the contents of the glass case he has sent. [For the list of plants referred to see folio 387.] Page 1 of 2.
