Description
By last mail Spitzly received flower seeds of a Nepenthes or 'fly catcher' from her son Dr John H. Spitzly in Paramaribo, Suriname. Although Spitzly is a great plant lover and has a conservatory, she does not have the proper convenience to grow hot house plants. She believes that, in the care of the RBG Kew, these seeds may have a chance of success. She explains that her son has been engaged as an army surgeon by the Dutch Government for the last three years and is very fond of natural history, botany and anthropology. Spitzly now has a large anthropology collection of the skulls of various tribes collected by her son, as well as a large box of seeds and beans. She will be most happy to send these if they might be of use. Pages 1 and 4 contain notes in another hand initialled D.M. Pages 1 and 4 of 4.
