Description
Crotalaria sphaerocarpa Perr. ex DC. subsp. sphaerocarpa original illustration from Flora Zambesiaca. This species is found in tropical Africa, occurring in savanna areas of moderately low rainfall, in a narrow northern zone (approx. 12 degrees North), from Senegal to the Sudan, then throughout the Zambezian domain to 30 degrees South, disjunct between. It tends to occur in woodland and savanna, usually on sand (sometimes loam or clay), along rivers, on dunes and wasteground, at altitudes of 0-1350m (Pope, Polhill & Martins, 2003).
