Description

Rothschild is sending Prain, herewith, three orchids he received from Borneo. He asks Prain to accept them for RBG Kew and if possible tell him their names. In postscript, Rothschild adds that he is also sending the plant '1661' referred to in the letter he is enclosing. This plant was received by Mr O'Brien from Ceylon [Sri Lanka], who identified it after it flowered. Annotated as received: Dendrobium serra, Appendicula spedies and Mystacidium 'spirale'.
