Description

Barnard writes that he studied botany at RBG Kew for a short time in 1907. Barnard is returning to England on leave in March and could bring living plants with him for RBG Kew. He has in mind Teysmannia altifrons, which he can easily obtain in numbers from the forest, but he will try and get other desiderata according to information from RBG Kew. Barnard is Deputy Conservator of Forests and so has special facilities for collecting. He presumes RBG Kew will fund any charges made by shipping companies, there will be no other expenses. He would be glad of advice on packing and care during the voyage. Annotations written in another hand suggest that Barnard consult Mr Wood at Perak regarding packing and care. Annotations also list Teysmannia and Nepenthes distillatoria under the heading 'seeds'.
