Description
Lawrence-Archer writes that he has just returned from China with his regiment, the 60th Rifles, and has brought with him a small collection of seeds. He gathered them himself at various places, including: Mauritius, Anjer, Ascension and St Vincent. Lawrence-Archer also has other items, including: bulbs, peculiar cones, a Chinese wet weather suit made from palm leaves, and specimens of different kinds of paper made by the Chinese. Lawrence-Archer offers to send Hooker any of these items he might want and adds that he also collected various cereal grains in the neighbourhood of Pekin [Beijing]. Lawrence-Archer provides a secondary address: 6 Westend Terrace, Winchester. Page 1 of 2.
