Description
Vieussieuxia fugax De la Roche original illustration from Curtis's Botanical Magazine. Watercolour and pencil on paper. This species was first imported from the Cape by Loddiges of Hackney in the early 1800's. It was then believed to have been lost to the gardens at Kew until 1863, when Cooper, on his botanical travels, sent the bulbs to his employer William Wilson Saunders. Saunders then passed the bulbs on to Kew.
