In this letter, Johnston write to Hooker at Kew to ask if he can pay a visit to the Kew herbarium to make drawings of certain plants in the Kilimanjaro collection. He says he is interested to know if any 'curious facts may be deduced from the presence of any particular species or genera on the mountain'; he is particularly interested in knowing the names of these species.
