Description
The writer of the letter [the signature is difficult to decipher] informs William Thiselton Dyer that he has met up with Sclater, who is very pleased with his involvement with the Kilimanjaro project. He reports that Sclater advised him to research the subject carefully and was going to send him some papers relating to it. The writer mentions that his going on the expedition would depend on two things: Firstly, his appointment would have to be honoured by the Indian Government, and secondly, he had some reservations about how to send specimens collected, back home safely. He also reports that Sclater does not envisage more than one man being appointed with the double role of Zoologist and Botanist. He says that Sclater was going to put him in touch with Murray, who would give him some information relating to the collection of Zoological Specimens. Pages 1 and 4 of 4.
