Description
Pike has received a letter relating to Algae from Dr. Dickie. But Pike has been unable to carry on his Algae collecting due to his bad health. He is in the process of leaving for America and will not be returning to Mauritius. He has made a complete collection of the leaves and flowers of the palms of this and neighbouring islands. Pike hopes that his second book on the ‘Fauna and Flora of Mauritius’ will be ready in the spring and he thinks it will prove useful. It brings together such a large volume of information ‘never hitherto’ presented to the public in this form. He hopes to have it distributed amongst learned societies and he encloses his American address. Pages 1 and 4 of 4.
