Description
Sass has packed the ferns and hopes they will arrive in good condition. She has also included some roots, several young ‘Coral tree’ plants and some pieces of the Frangipanii. Sass remarks that everything grows luxuriantly during this season but it is difficult as a lady to get into the bush to collect the ‘vegetable curiosities’, especially when not strong and occupied with missionary work. She thanks Hooker for his offer to send plants but at present she has plenty of variety from local species. If Sass stays for any length of time she may take up Hooker’s offer, unless she is driven back to England by the rainy season. Pages 1 and 4 of 4.
