Description
Letter communicating an interesting find in Ondo of a bulb, which when flowering is fragrant and resembles Polianthes tuberosa. Carles notes that the stem is currently 3 foot 9 inches and is laden with buds. He sends a flower preserved in spirit and asks if others have found the plant growing in West Africa. He sends also an Aristolochia for identification, and regrets that their growth in his garden is damaged by pests. Carles is glad that Miller will be returning to restore the Botanical Station from its decline. Carles has sent a horse and some cows and pigs to help produce manure. Pages 1 and 4 of 4.
