Description
Tree to 25 m high, bole to 80 cm diameter, twisted, knobbly, of damp and swampy sites in the dense rain-forest (1, 6, 7), from Sierra Leone to Ghana.Sap-wood is white, wide and hard. It emits a pungent odour attracting borers to which it is not resistant.
