R.A.Maas Geesteranus no. 6160 d.d. 7-IX-1949 Loc. Rift Vally Province, Nakuru Distr., Eastern Mau Forest Reserve, camp 11, lat. 0º28'30'' S., long. 35º58'30'' E. Habitat & altitud. s. m. open savannah-woodland with scattered clumps of trees (Olea chrysophylla, Dombeya, Juniperus, Acacia lahai and A. abyssinica) and shrubs, at some distance from the Naishi River, dry soil; 2300 m s.m. Annot. stem flushed with purple, calyx pale green, corolla pale yellow, filaments and style green, anthers yellow, stigma whitish; among grasses, partly shaded, common.
