Occasional medium bush, occasional dense bush, not seen open bush or gravel - see habitat descr. of 168-270. Woody herb growing to 3'high. Steams weak. Often growing under shrubs. Leaves very rough. Flowers cream and pale mauve.[Typewritten label:]DR. P.E.ELLIS NOS. 168-270The last rain fell on 7th Nov. After this the vegetation began to dry out. Leaf drop and autumn colours began about 21st Nov.There were four types of habitat:-1. Stony soil at foot of hills and on low hills about 30 m. high. Shrubs spread out to 10-18 m. apart, with poor ground vegetation.2. Dense bush with trees up to 10 m. high; on sandy soil. Practically no collecting done in these areas.3. Medium bush on red sandy soil. Shrubs up to 3 m. high were generally about 10 m. apart. Rich ground vegetation.4.
