Biography
Kang-Peng To collected plants for Lingnan University (formerly Canton Christian College) from 1916 until his death ten years later. Among those he worked with were F.A. McClure and G.W. Groff. He collected with the latter in Tang Yuen, Guangxi Province, in 1919. They went on to gather over 500 specimens in Thailand and Vietnam in 1920. To then worked with McClure and A.S. Hitchcock in Vietnam in 1921. To and McClure travelled to the tropical Chinese island of Hainan later that year, collecting 1,426 numbers there. The pair were joined by Wai-Tak Tsang on a second expedition to the island in 1922, while in 1924 To participated in the National Geographic Society Central China Expedition with Tsang and Un Kin Tsang (led by F.R. Wulsin).
