Biography
Australian botanist. Norman Byrnes was born in Adelaide but moved to the opposite end of the country, to Darwin, in 1966. He spent seven years as a botanist in the Northern Territory before joining the Queensland Herbarium in 1973. Byrne's research was mainly on the Combretaceae and Myrtaceae families.
