Biography
Ying Tsiang was a leading Chinese botanist of the 20th century, serving as Professor of Botany at the South China College of Agriculture, Guangdong. Tsiang was on the editorial board of the Flora Reipublicae Popularis Sinicae and Honorary President of the Botanical Society of China. He prepared the volumes on Annonanceae, Apocynaceae and Asclepidaceae for the Flora Reipublicae Popularis Sinicae as well as for Flora Yunnanica (1983). He described 240 new species and 10 new genera.
Tsiang also conducted important early collecting work in Guangdong Province.
