Biography
Botanist Takasi Yamazaki of the University of Tokyo collected plants in Asia as a member of several expeditions, including the 1955 Kyoto University Scientific Expedition to Karakoram and Hindukush and a botanical expedition to Bhutan, Darjeeling and Central Nepal in 1967.
Yamazaki was an editor of the most recent Flora of Japan and contributed to Volume 1: Pteridophyta and Gymnospermae (1995). He published A Revision of the Genus Rhododendron in Japan, Korea and Sakhalin the following year.
