Biography
Little-known brother of Thomas Thomson who collected in Madras, or acquired material from local collectors, and sent Indian specimens to his brother and J.D. Hooker. He may also have collected in Singapore. Original Gideon Thomson material is deposited in the Hooker and Thomson herbarium. Not to be confused with George Thomson who collected later in Cameroon.
