Biography
British botanist who graduated from the University of London (1920). Though he mainly collected in Britain, he visited Spitzbergen in 1921. He was employed as head of the orchid herbarium at Kew (1924-1964) where his herbarium and types were deposited. Some British material and original cryptogams were probably transferred under the Morton Agreement and account for some of the specimens now at BM.
