Biography
German pharmacist and botanist from Zweibrükken (Rheinland-Pfalz) and older brother of C.H. Schultz. Material at BM is European, from various localities in both France and Germany collected between 1829 and 1873, and includes many types of taxa named by F.W. Schultz or based on his material. Schultze's Herbarium normale contains specimens from many other collectors such as A.M. Einsele in 1853, é. de Pommaret, in 1855, C.G. Brügger, in 1863 and J.O. Debeaux in 1866. The exsiccatae series was continued after his death by K. Keck and I. Dörfler; it includes material from other European countries and further collectors, such as J. Wiesbaur in 1883 and L. von Simonkai in 1888.
