Biography
Ethel Chase taught botany at Wayne University, Michigan. She graduated from the University of Michigan in 1903, later attaining her master's degree there in 1915. She joined the City College of Detroit, where she was Senior Instructor in Botany and Dean of Women. She also spent a year on an expedition to the South Sea Islands and spent periods studying at Stetson University, Florida University, Chicago University and the University of Minnesota. She retired in 1947.
