Biography
South African plant collector who was the younger sister of William Guybon Atherstone (1814-1898), who also has plant collections at BM. Caroline Atherstone married Henry Hutton and the two collected in South Africa, the specimens being sent to W.H. Harvey and J.D. Hooker. Hutton material at BM collected in South Africa after 1896 is probably attributable to Mrs Hutton.
