Biography
German archaeologist. Caecilie Seler-Sachs (née Sachs) collected archaeological items and plants on travels in Mexico and Guatemala (1887-1911) with her husband, the German anthropologist Eduard Seler, who was a curator at the Völkerkunder Museum in Berlin. The pair made copious notes and took numerous photographs on their travels and Caecilie Seler-Sachs authored many works on the history of Mesoamerica. The couple's plant collections from their 1895-1897 trip are described by Thomas Loesener in Plantae Selerianae (1899).
