Biography
American mycologist. Amy Rossman is director of the United States National Fungus Collections (BPI) in the Agricultural Research Service of the United States Department of Agriculture in Beltsville, Maryland. She was born in Spokane, Washington, in 1946 and received her PhD from Oregon State College in 1975 for her work on the genus Ophionectria (Ascomycetes, Hypocreales). Her current research focuses on two major orders of pyremonycetes, the Hypocreales and the Diaporthales. She collected fungi extensively in the Neotropics as part of a postdoctoral fellowship at Cornell University and the New York Botanical Garden in 1979-1980. She also participated in a 1986 expedition to French Guiana sponsored by the Biological Diversity of the Guiana Shield Program. Amy Rossman is credited with some phanerogam collections made jointly with her husband, Christian Feuillet.
