Biography
French entomologist and dealer in natural history specimens. Auguste Sallé moved to Mexico with his mother in 1932 at the age of 12, and from then until 1860, when he resettled in Paris, he collected in Mexico, Venezuela, and the French Antilles, mainly insect specimens, which he sent to Louis Alexandre Auguste Chevrolat, one of the founders of the Société Entomologique de France. Sallé was a member of the Société Entomologique de France, the Entomological Society of London and was elected to the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia in 1888.
