Biography
United States botanist who trained at Texas A. & M. University and received a PhD (1982) for a thesis entitled 'A systematic study of Tillandsia subgenus Tillandsia'. Sue Gardner was born in Woodward, Oklahoma, and collected in Mexico as a graduate student at Texas A. & M. University. Adjunct Professor at Corpus Christi State University, Science & Technology, Biology (1983-1990), Executive Director of Corpus Christi Botanical Garden (1983-1989) and later Owner and Operator of the Rancho Madrono Guest Ranch (1990-1998). Director of the Georgia Southern Botanical Garden of Georgia Southern University (1998-).
