Biography
American botanist at Iowa State University. Lynn Clark's research interests are in Poaceae and Bambusoideae, especially the neotropical genus Chusquea. Her interest in bamboos was sparked while working as a volunteer at the Smithsonian Institution at the age of 16. She then studied botany and horticulture at Michigan State University, graduating in 1979. Clark went on to complete her PhD in 1986 at Iowa State University, since when she has been a member of the university's botany department. She is currently a professor and director of the Ada Hayden Herbarium. Clark is co-author of American Bamboos (1999).
