German botanist from Berlin who was trained in Berlin (PhD 1889). Specimens at BM consist of collections from Cyrenaica and were distributed with duplicates from the herbarium of W. Barbey, the originals are now part of the Barbey-Boissier herbarium at G. He died in Manaos, Amazonas, Brazil.
