Biography
English gardener at Kew (1909). He was apponted as an Assistant Agricultural Officer in Uganda (1911), becoming District Agricultural Officer (1918), Senior District Agricultural Officer (1928) and Economic Botanist (1930-1931). Snowden specialised in cultivated plants, particularly grasses, with original collections being sent to K. His herbarium of the flora of Uganda, including cryptogams, was donated to BM (1934).
