Biography
Frère Sennen was a French clergyman in the order of the Christian Brothers, based for many years at the Ecole Chrétiennes of Beziers, southern France. A keen amateur botanist, he collected many plants in this area and published work on the flora of Bezier with Abbé H. Costa. He became a member of the Botanical Society of France in 1894.
In 1904 Sennen was appointed director of the Christian Brothers school in Figueras, Catalonia. He proceeded to develop his knowledge of the Spanish flora, making many collecting expeditions. In his final years, he began to study the flora of Morocco.
Sennen left Spain during the revolution of 1936 and settled in Marseilles, where he died suddenly in January 1937.
