Biography
German naval officer from Schleswig, who served mainly in the Danish navy and was stationed in the Danish Antilles (1869-1887). He collected plants widely during his travels in the Caribbean, particularly in St Croix, St Thomas, St Domingo, the Bahamas, Cuba and on the South American mainland in Venezuela and Ecuador. He died in Leipzig.
