Biography
British colonial doctor born in Nimach, India, who joined the Bengal Medical Service (1858). He collected mainly in India and on the border with Afgahnistan (1884-1886), later writing the botanical account of the Afghan Delimitation Commission. His British collections were deposited at K. The genus Aitchisonia Hemsl. was named after him.
