Information
Rhizome up to 5 mm. in diam., creeping, with fronds spaced c. 4 mm. apart and with brown clathrate minutely pseudoserrate narrowly ovate rhizome-scales up to 2 mm. long. Frond arching, herbaceous, proliferous near the apex of the frond. Stipe up to 18 cm. long, atrocastaneous, densely set with ovate to broadly ovate clathrate pale scales of various sizes up to 1.5 mm. long together with multicellular hairs. Lamina up to 65 x 10 cm., shallowly to deeply pinnatifid, very narrowly elliptic in outline. Pinnae up to 6 x 1.6 cm., up to 46 pairs, lanceolate, rhombic, attenuate, base unequally cuneate, pinnately divided into linear-oblong acute 2-fid or 3-fid or broadly cuneate and deeply incised lobes, acroscopic basal lobe the largest and often overlapping the rhachis, thinly pubescent above and below especially near the base, densely so along the costa, dorsally with clathrate ovate brown scales up to 1 mm. long. Rhachis atrocastaneous, densely pubescent with whitish hairs and with occasional ovate scales. Sori up to 5 mm. long, linear and very narrowly oblong, set at 25º to the costa; indusium linear, membranous, entire.
