Information
Rhizome up to 8 mm. in diam., short, creeping, with tufted fronds and with narrowly linear subentire dark-brown rhizome-scales 4–5 mm. long with paler margins. Stipe castaneous to ebeneous, up to 25 cm. long, terete, glabrous or pilose with erect hairs and with numerous pale-brown scales about the base similar to those on the rhizome. Frond erect, coriaceous. Lamina up to 39 x 12 cm., narrowly oblong to lanceolate in outline, simply pinnate or 2-pinnate; pinnae and pinnules of lower pinnae in 2-pinnate fronds, linear to lanceolate or oblong, entire obtuse with cordate bases, up to 5.5 x 1.0 cm., articulated at the apex of the petiole or petiolule, both surfaces glabrous or pilose, the ventral surface a darker green than the dorsal; veins free, obscure; rhachis and secondary rhachises castaneous to ebeneous, pubescent with short stiff hairs ventrally, glabrous or pilose dorsally. Sori forming a marginal soral line; indusium continuous, membranous, entire.
