Information
Habit strongly rhizomatous, with rhizomes producing tubers to 12 × 5 cm, and often with a number of plantlets arising at some distance from the parent plant; branches to 35 cm long, 3–4(5)-angled; cymes often forking several times.

Floodplain grassland and vleis
Range
Distribution is centred around Baía de Maputo extending westwards into Mpumalanga and southwards into KwaZulu-Natal
Altitude range
25–200 m.
