Leaves spirally arranged; lamina subreniform to cordate, 1.5–11.5 x 2–12 cm., subcoriaceous; apex short acuminate or subacute to rounded; base cordate; margin subentire or irregularly crenate; superior surface ± densely hirtellous to pubescent, often somewhat scabrous, inferior surface hirtellous, subtomentose on the veins; venation prominent beneath, lateral veins 3–5(6) pairs, the basal pair branched, ending at the margin above the middle of the lamina; tertiary venation reticulate orpartly scalariform; petiole 0.5–3(5.5) cm. long, 1–2 mm. thick, epidermis not flaking off; stipules 2–6 mm. long, almost as wide as long, apex rounded, white to brownish pubescent, caducous. Figs in the leaf axils, subsessile or on peduncles up to 2 mm. long, basal bracts 2–3 mm. long, caducous. Receptacle subglobose, 0.5–1 cm. in diam. when dry, densely white puberulous to hirtellous.
