Information
A small tree or a shrub up to 7 m. high. Young branches narrowly 4-winged, reddish-brown, ± cylindric when older, covered with greyish ± irregularly fissured bark; nodes thickened; internodes 0·5–2·5 cm. long. Leaf-lamina (1·5)2–3·5 x 1–2·5 cm., ovate or elliptic, obtuse or roundish at the apex, roundish or slightly cuneate at the base, dark green above, yellowish-green or bright green beneath, longitudinally 3-nerved, the longitudinal nerves ± raised on both faces, the laterals arched between the insertions with the transverse ones above the middle of leaf; reticulation close and very conspicuous mainly on the under side; petiole c. 1 mm. long. Flowers unknown. Fruits sessile, clustered, sometimes at the nodes of the leafless part of branches, crowned by the reddish, 1·5 mm. long receptacle lobes.

Coastal forests on sandstone.
